More Spring!

I really had fun composing these collages.I love colour and because these are small I was able to be a little bit bolder.I am always amazed by the self editing that goes on in the studio. So,for the next week{I was going to say month, but I self edited ; )}I am going to use as much bright colour as I want to.Be silent voice who utters"Are you sure about that much pink?"

Harbingers of Spring

It's cold and rainy here.Very dreary and grey, and I am over the winter!I am always ready for spring when the grey soggy weather arrives.I hate the damp. So,instead of giving over to my baser nature, which only wants to complain and fret,I started creating my own first signs of spring. Sold
These collages are 4"x4"x2".Acrylic,paper,etc. on wood.I hope you enjoy them.

I am taking a Monotype class up in Richmond at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts School.Mary Holland is the instructor and she is amazing.Very helpful and encouraging.
These are a coulpe of prints I pulled friday.I was experimenting with oil pastel.I applied a layer of oil pastel to a plexi glass plate I had covered with foil.I then printed on to a sheet of soaked Rives BFK,I usually print dry.I plan to try this again with the addition of a thin layer of Daniel Smith Transparent Blender over the top.My hope is that that will be enough to lift a bit more of the pastel on to the paper. We will see.
I will be going back into these prints at some point and will post the results.
